Halving Cycle

The "Halving Cycle" is an algorithm built into the Bitcoin blockchain that periodically halves the yield of BTC by miners.

Halving Cycle

Another way the amount of Bitcoin that is produced is controlled is by the "Halving" cycle, a built in feature of Bitcoin that halves the amount of Bitcoin mined per block approximately every four years. The final "Halving" will occur around 2136, when the block issuance will be just 0.00000168 Bitcoin per block, and total Bitcoins mined will reach approximately 21 million.
